Our 2013 Partnership Events season has officially wrapped up! With today being International Volunteer Day, we’d like to give a big thank you to all our PartnershipsInAction volunteers! Here at the Aga Khan Foundation U.S.A. (AKF USA), we deeply appreciate the incredible energy and commitment you have contributed to organize very successful events that show Americans the resilience and ingenuity at work in some of the most vulnerable communities in Africa and Asia, and that benefit those very communities. Our volunteers’ boundless enthusiasm and commitment to helping others are key components of AKF USA’s work. Thanks to your dedication, we raised nearly $7,000,000 for our programs this year, showing once again that if we all come together, we can end global poverty. Here are some highlights from this year’s exciting events season:

Orlando’s Village in Action featured an array of exciting exhibits, showing the diversity of AKF’s programs in Africa and Asia.
The interactive exhibits at San Francisco’s Village in Action gave visitors the opportunity to get their hands dirty and learn about a diverse range of AKF’s programming.
There was a diverse array of family friendly entertainment lined up at San Antonio’s second Partnership Walk/Run.
Children at Atlanta’s Partnership Run help children in Africa and Asia reach their dreams as thousands of families raised funds for AKF projects.
Golfers came together at Atlanta’s beautiful East Lake Golf Club to take a swing at ending global poverty.
Students from Homewood Middle School managed the Village in Action at the Birmingham Partnership Walk.
In Chicago, young runners show their commitment for ending global poverty.
The popular Dallas Partnership Run was an exciting opportunity for members of the community to support ending global poverty.
The Houston Partnership Walk was a fun-filled day for the whole family; special guests included The Honorable Annise Parker, Mayor of Houston, and The Honorable Marty McVey, Member of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Board for International Food and Agricultural Development.
Special guests, including actor and activist Danny Glover, cut the ribbon and officially kick off the 19th Los Angeles Partnership Walk.
The second Partnership 1K Colorful Fun Run – held in Memphis – was festive experience despite un-delightful weather.
