Dallas golf volunteers hit a hole-in-one

It’s always a good day to play golf. That was especially true on April 15 when more than 100 players gathered at Cowboys Golf Club in Dallas to tee off against poverty.

It had been five years since the last AKF USA golf event in Dallas, so volunteers went all out to make the 2024 edition memorable, complete with a helicopter ball drop, prizes, and a gourmet dinner.

Our golf tournaments raise funds to support AKF and they are an excellent opportunity to bring colleagues, corporate sponsors and donors together to raise awareness while having fun.

With a team of 20 volunteers behind the scenes, the event attracted 104 players, 26 teams and 25 corporate sponsors to the green, with the North Texas Business Association (NTBA) as the Presenting Sponsor.

The Keynote speaker was Farida Khemani, AKF’s past National Committee member and president of President of All Color Badge & Awards, a leader in award and recognition products.

Hameeda Somani, Regional Chair for Central USA, gave the Welcome address, and Hanif Khoja, Vice Chair Central USA, closed the day with words of thanks for everyone who participated.

Proceeds from the event will help AKF continue to support programs that bring positive, sustainable change to communities around the world.
